The participants in the conference “A century of forest knowledge – education, innovations, challenges (CENFORKNOW 2025)” have the opportunity to publish their original work as scientific papers in a special issue of the scientific magazine “Forestry ideas”.
The conference “A century of forest knowledge – education, innovations, challenges (CENFORKNOW 2025)” dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Higher forestry education in Bulgaria was held from 7th to 9th May 2025 in Sofia, Bulgaria. It gathered more than 160 participants from various countries. They presented 115 studies as oral presentations and posters. The thematic fields of the conference were related to a variety of topics relevant to forest ecology including forest disturbances, climate and forests, forest management, ecosystem services, game and wildlife conservation and management, wood harvesting and processing, forestry and environmental education as well as other fields of education in the University of Forestry such as agronomy, landscape architecture and veterinary medicine.
The scope of the CENFORKNOW2025 Special issue is to publish as original research papers some of the 115 different presented as oral or poster presentation studies.

Peer review: All submitted papers will undergo a peer-review process and will be reviewed by no fewer than two independent experts from the Scientific Committee of the conference to ensure the quality, originality and novelty of the work published.
